August Bank Holiday FAQs

This is the last Monday in August, sometimes called Summer Bank Holiday, and is the last public holiday in England before Christmas. The next occurence is on Monday 31 August 2026 at the end of the school Summer Holidays.

Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park is the closest holiday park to the sandy expanse of the beach, Woolacombe Bay is packed with attractions and activities to keep the whole family happy this summer. The watersports lake and outdoor pool let you take full advantage of that late summer sun.

Twitchen House Holiday Park is surrounded by leafy woodland where you can enjoy a cool evening walk, Twitchen House may have a laid-back atmosphere perfect for long, lazy summer nights, but you’ll still get to enjoy plenty of pool options, and great family fun.

Easewell Farm Holiday Park is our smallest and quieter option. If you want to fill your long bank holiday weekend with either family camping or relaxed golfing, Easewell Farm is the option for you. Stunning seaside views can be enjoyed from both the 9-hole golf course and the relaxed campsite.

Whilst the UK may have a reputation for gloomy weather, August is generally the best time of year for sunshine and hot weather, making it the perfect time to head to the beach. In Woolacombe, there is coastal walking, surfing and many miles of beautiful sandy beach to enjoy. Best of all, you’ll have long days with plenty of daylight to explore the local region and enjoy our outdoor activities. 

You can bring your furry friends to our selected pet friendly caravan options at Woolacombe Bay and Twitchen House this August Bank Holiday. Dogs are also welcome on camping and touring pitches at Twitchen House and Easewell Farm. The beach is open to dogs during August, although there are restrictions in place in certain zones.
