Woolacombe Beach stroll
With miles of beautiful golden sands stretching out to the sea, Woolacombe Bay is perfect for a family walk. Take a look at the National Trust’s suggested Woolacombe Beach Walk for a mile-long stroll through the dunes and over the sands that is the perfect length for younger children. Woolacombe Beach is a short drive from our three North Devon holiday parks - Woolacombe Bay, Twitchen House and Easewell Farm - so don’t miss this walk when you visit us for your family getaway.
Hillsborough Circular AONB walk
On the edge of the charming seaside town of Ilfracombe within the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this walk offers stunning seaside views. A circular route of just 1.5 miles, this walk has some coastal, rocky terrain but rewards walkers with views over Broadstrand Beach. You can reach Ifracombe in 10 to 15 minutes by car from our holiday parks.
Georgeham & Putsborough easy access trail
Explore the historic rural village of Georgeham, just a stone's throw from the coast and around a quarter of an hour drive from our holiday parks. As well as being a good length for little legs, this 1.2 mile easy access walk would be suitable with pushchairs or buggies, making it ideal for a family jaunt.
Morte Point walk
Another National Trust offering, this walk covers just over 2 miles following a short section of the famous South West Coast Path. Offering impressive and extensive views over Woolacombe Beach and Baggy Point, this family and dog-friendly walk is very easy to reach from our holiday parks. You may even be lucky and spot grey seals playing in the waters here!
Barnstaple Estuary walk
Following a straightforward and easily accessible route along a level tarmac path along part of the Tarka Trail, this is another option that would be well suited to families with buggies or pushchairs. The Barnstaple Estuary walk is 2.5 miles each way, but you can cut this short and do a smaller section if you want to reduce the length. Keep an eye out for wildlife of all kinds along the estuary, and enjoy the bracing seaside air as you walk. You can reach Barnstaple Estuary and the start of this walk in around half an hour from our holiday parks.
Westward Ho! ANOB trail
Another walk intended to showcase the beauty of the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this 3.5 mile walk begins at the strikingly-named town of Westward Ho! Located slightly further from our holiday parks, with a drive of around three quarter of an hour, you will be rewarded with stunning coastal views. Featuring one particularly steep ascent and a longer route than the above walks, this option would be more suitable for slightly older children.
