You'll find lots of reasons why you can plan your holiday safe in the knowledge that we'll do everything we can to take away any worries. For starters, all online payments use the highest level of card security.

It's just one of the reasons we get lots of happy returns every year. But no one books a holiday with the expectation you'd need to cancel or change it, but if the unplanned happens then it's good to know we're upfront with what your options are. Our low cost Holiday Safeguard Scheme - that's handy cancellation and amendment cover - means you can book the holiday that suits you with the peace of mind that if your plans change later you've got the flexibility you need. Plus, you really can book ahead with confidence because:

  • Holiday Safeguard Scheme is automatically included free on next year's holidays worth up to £20 when booked by 4th February 2019.
  • You can make any changes to next year's holiday for free meaning there's no £20 per amendment charge up to 24th December 2018.

In a bit more detail, what happens if...

Cancelling more than 56 days before arrival

With our Holiday Safeguard Scheme: You'll loose the standard deposit and the cost of Holiday Safeguard Scheme (unless it was free) and administration charges already incurred for amendments you've already made, but all other money will be refunded in the same way as your original payment, except for payments made by vouchers, credit notes or transfer notes which will not be refunded. You can cancel at any time and we'll process your refund straight away - that's our No Quibble Refund Guarantee!

If you're cancelling due to a 'qualifying reason' under the terms of the Holiday Safeguard Scheme, you can claim a FULL REFUND less the cost of the Holiday Safeguard Scheme cover when you send in a completed Cancellation Form with the required documentary evidence.

Without our Holiday Safeguard Scheme: Sorry, there's NO refund on any monies paid and you're still liable to pay the balance.

Cancelling 2 to 56 days before arrival

With our Holiday Safeguard Scheme: Sorry, there's no refund this close to the holiday unless you're cancelling due to a 'qualifying reason' under the terms of the Holiday Safeguard Scheme; then you can claim a FULL REFUND less the cost of the Holiday Safeguard Scheme cover (unless it was free) and any amendment fees you've already incurred when you send in a completed Cancellation Form with the required documentary evidence. If you're not cancelling for a qualifying reason, you might want to consider amending your holiday instead.

Without our Holiday Safeguard Scheme: Sorry, there's NO refund on any monies paid.

Cancelling within 2 days before arrival

With our Holiday Safeguard Scheme: If you're cancelling due to a 'qualifying reason' under the terms of the Holiday Safeguard Scheme, you can claim a 30% REFUND less the cost of the Holiday Safeguard Scheme cover (unless it was free) and any amendment fees you've already incurred when you send in a completed Cancellation Form with the required documentary evidence.

Without our Holiday Safeguard Scheme: Sorry, there's NO refund on any monies paid.

In all cases, once your holiday is due to start there's no refund on any monies paid and should you cut your holiday short after it has commenced, we regret we're also unable to make any full or partial refunds.

Amending more than 56 days before arrival

You can change your holiday to an earlier or later date in the same year for an amendment fee of £20 per change plus any difference in the prevailing holiday price, subject to availability. This amendment fee is payable at the time of making the change.

No charges for changes only for early bookers - the amendment fee of £20 does not apply when you change your 2019 holiday before 24th December 2018.

If amending your holiday increases the price this will be added to your booking and due with the remaining balance, or at the time of amending if your final balance due date has already passed.

If the holiday is a lower price then we'll reduce the holiday cost and refund you the difference - as long as you added our Holiday Safeguard Scheme when you booked - in the same way you made your original payment, for example back to the same card. But if the holiday is a lower price and you didn't take our Holiday Safeguard Scheme then we're sorry there's NO refunds.

Excludes bookings made through third party promotions which cannot be amended.

Amending 14 to 56 days days before arrival

With our Holiday Safeguard Scheme: You can change your holiday to an earlier or later date in the same year for an amendment fee of £20 per change plus any difference in the prevailing holiday price, subject to availability. If amending your holiday increases the price this will be added to your booking. If the holiday is a lower price then we'll refund you the difference in the same way you made your original payment, for example back to the same card.

Without our Holiday Safeguard Scheme: You can change your holiday to an earlier - but not a later - date in the same year for amendment fee of £20 per change plus any difference in the prevailing holiday price, subject to availability. If amending your holiday increases the price this will be added to your booking, if the holiday is a lower price then we're sorry there's NO refunds if you didn't take our Holiday Safeguard Scheme when you booked.

Excludes bookings made through third party promotions which cannot be amended.

Amending less than 14 days before arrival

With our Holiday Safeguard Scheme: You can change your holiday to an earlier - but not a later - date in the same year for an amendment fee of £20 per change plus any difference in the prevailing holiday price, subject to availability. If amending your holiday increases the price this will be added to your booking. If the holiday is a lower price then we'll refund you the difference in the same way you made your original payment, for example back to the same card.

Without our Holiday Safeguard Scheme: You can change your holiday to an earlier - but not a later - date in the same year for amendment fee of £20 per change plus any difference in the prevailing holiday price, subject to availability. If amending your holiday increases the price this will be added to your booking, if the holiday is a lower price then we're sorry there's NO refunds if you didn't take our Holiday Safeguard Scheme when you booked.

Excludes bookings made through third party promotions which cannot be amended.

Upgrading an existing holiday booking

If you're changing to a higher grade Holiday Home, including larger accommodation with more bedrooms, or you are upgrading your Camping & Touring pitch type at the exact same Park, date and duration as originally booked then you can do this at any time for the difference in the prevailing holiday price.

Upgrades are subject to availability and do not incur an amendment fee, if your balance due date has already passed then you'll need to pay for the upgrade at the time of making the change.

Top tip: if you are thinking about upgrading your holiday it's better to do it sooner rather than later... not just because availability sells out, but as discounts generally reduce the closer to arrival then a lower percentage discount makes the cost to upgrade higher.

Qualifying reasons for the purpose of enhanced cancellation refund entitlement:

  • Ilness, death, injury or maternity of any person in your party listed at the time of booking, or
  • Ilness, death or injury of a close relative, or
  • Redundancy of any person in your party listed at the time of booking, or
  • Jury Service by any person in your party listed at the time of booking.


Providing the Holiday Safeguard Scheme has been paid at the time of booking (or included free as part of an offer) and the circumstances affecting your ability to take the holiday arose after you made your booking you will be able to claim once you have supplied the required documentary evidence in the form of a Doctor's Certificate, Employer's or Court Notification showing the date they occurred.


*Any difference in holiday price is payable at the time of amending the holiday, if the holiday is a lower price after the amendment fee we'll refund you the difference.
Holiday Safeguard Scheme costs £20 for 7 night self-catering holidays and £10 for self-catering holidays of up to 4 nights or £1.50 per night for Camping & Touring holidays; must be added to your booking and paid with your initial deposit and cannot be added at a later date, click here for full terms and conditions. Free Holiday Safeguard Scheme cover excludes third party promotion bookings. Cancellations within 8 weeks of arrival where our Holiday Safeguard Scheme is purchased are covered depending on when you cancel and the reason for this, proof of reason of cancellation will be required. Amendments are subject to availability, amendments within 2 weeks of arrival are possible when our Holiday Safeguard Scheme cover has been taken out and where this to an earlier date only. Amendments made after 31st October will be at the following year's prices and prevailing discounts available the time of making the change.
